My Garden

So, so happy to have a garden. Have been mowing with a push mower, planting grass seeds and stocking up on plants from Walthamstow market. Nothing beats drying your clothes outside. Ahhh.

Independent on Sunday

Hello Poppets.

Just to share some recent work with you. I was asked to illustrate an alternative £5 note for a feature in the Independent on Sunday. I chose Mary Stopes. See why here.

JESSIE WARE

My Jessie Ware Secret 7 got chosen along with Nick Drake. Very chuffed that someone bought it. All funds  go to Art Against Knives. I hear Secret7 have done very well this year. So proud to be part of it.

ABANDONED

NATIONAL PORTRAIT MUSEUM

is my favourite place in the world.

On Friday they have a late night drop-in drawing session, so Melancholic Georges and I popped down to draw some Elizabethan fancy lady bedecked in pearls with pretty alabaster hands. I really like Mel G's, she has a saucy look whereas I sadly managed to make mine look a lot more stern than the original.

I HEART HOLB'S

As a Tudors-obsessed little girl, I fell in love with the portraiture of Hans Holbein the Younger. His sketches are beautiful, slightly sad and delicately light with piercings of black and blushes of peach.
